Chrissie Collins, parent …

One of the best things I can say about St Kevin’s Primary School Ormond (SKO), is that my daughter Bridie wakes up every day and can’t wait to go to school. She loves her teacher, friends, and the variety of activities offered throughout her day. SKO has exceeded our expectations and given us everything we wished for from a small Parish Primary School.  It is such a caring and nurturing environment and the down to earth parent body have been most welcoming, Chrissie and Marc Collins (Bridie Grade 2).

Having arrived in Australia mid-way through prep from the UK, it was always going to a challenge finding a suitable school for our daughter.
After visiting many local schools we finally landed on St. Kevin’s. Why?
Well put simply, we were blown away with the “feel” of the place. It is difficult to explain this but I’m sure many new parents will associate with this when they engage with teachers and fellow parents at St. Kevin’s.
Of course St. Kevin’s may not suit everyone. Like all schools, it has its challenges but if the following criteria is on your consideration list, then I would thoroughly recommend St. Kevin’s.
  • Dedicated, hard working leadership and teaching group
  • Consistently looking and open to new ideas to improve the children’s learning experience (technology, teaching styles, creative, teaching environment)
  • Open, regular communication between the teachers, school board, P&F and wider school community
  • A focus on teaching and practising Christian values
  • A rich, nurturing school community – the children look out for each other
  • An active, welcoming P&F group and a very proactive parent community
In short, my children are developing into confident, well-rounded young adults thanks to their experience at St. Kevin’s.
