Position: School Captain

Person in life I respect and think is a good role model: I think my family are great people in my life because they help me learn things and have helped me through life in it’s good and bad.

What I think leadership is: I think being a leader is to set a good example for the students of St Kevins. Being a leader is also caring for others and helping them in all ways possible. We have to be responsible in our school as a leader.

What I would like to be involved in this year: I would like to be involved in school tours, SRC, school sports events, fundraising and much much more.

What I like about St Kevins: I like that St.Kevin’s is a small school. I like it because it is easy to make friends. I love St Kevins because you learn lots and it is a great fun school.

 

Rigby, ZaraName: Zara Rigby

Position: School Captain

Person in life I respect and think is a good role model: I think my parents are good role models and I respect them. They always make the right decision and do the right thing.

What I think leadership is: I think leadership is about being a good role model to the other students. we have to be responsible for everything we do and make sure we make right decisions,and try to make the school a better place.

What I would like to be involved in this year: I would like to be involved in representing my school as much as I can and making it a better,SRC, assemblies, sporting events and much more.

What I like about St Kevins: I like St Kevins because it’s a small school so I get the chance to know everyone. I like how it is a school that works together in a nice, caring way.

 

Dilettoso, JessicaName: Jessica Dilettoso

Position: Bonaventure House Captain

Person in life I respect and think is a good role model for me: My role models are my mum and dad because they help me to be me and they help me be a house captain.

What I think leadership is: I think leadership is about leading the school and setting good example to the school. I also think that being a leader is working in a team with all the other captains.

What I would like to be involved in this year: I would like to be involved is many things this year such as athletics, fundraising, school tours, school sports and SRC and helping the school as much as I can.

What I like about St Kevin’s school: I love St Kevins because everyone is friends and nobody fights. We have fun activities such as a mini fete, fun days, casual days, fiestas and more.

 

Kermode, LaurenName: Lauren Kermode

Position: Brennan House Captain

Person in life I respect and think is a good role model for me: My mum and dad (Andrea Kermode & Will Kermode) because whenever I have a problem they always know the right thing to do and they inspire me to be who I am.

What I think leadership is: I think leadership is about being responsible and a good role model to everyone in the school and also working as a team and making everyone feel welcome at St Kevin’s.

What I would like to be involved in this year: I would like to be involved in all interschool sports, school tours, fundraising, SRC and helping this school be the best that I can be.

What I like about St Kevin’s: We have such a small school, everyone knows everybody’s names. I also like all the school events we do such as the mini fete, the fiesta, the swimming carnival and much more.  

 

Dommisse, SebastianName: Sebastian Dommisse

Position: Conlon House Captain

Special Person In My Life: My mum and dad have always been a great role model to me.

What I think leadership is about: Leadership is about being a good role model and always trying to help others when they are in need.

What I Would Like To Be Involved In This Year: Helping this school to be the best it can be.

What I Like About St Kevin’s: I like that everyone is always so kind and supportive to others.

 

Henderson, OliviaName: Olivia Henderson

Position: Patrick House Captain

Person in life I respect and think is a good role model for me: My mum and dad because they help me to be more confident at all I do. They also both got a leadership role when they were younger.

I think leadership is about: I think leadership is about working with the other captains and SRC to make this school  a better place. I also think leadership is about been a good role model to younger students.

Would I like to be involved with this year: I would like to be involved with school tours sporting events , Prep buddy’s, inter-school sports, SRC meetings and  fundraising events.

What I like about St Kevin’s school: I like that at St Kevin’s is a small school and everyone knows each other. I also like that at St Kevin’s school there’s so many opportunities to try out for.

School House Names

Bonaventure – Red House

Red House is named after Sister Mary Bonaventure Harrington. Sister Bonaventure was born in 1888 in Bald Hills, near Creswick, Victoria. She was one of five children. She joined the Presentation Sisters in 1909.

Sister Bonaventure opened St Kevin’s Ormond in 1924 and taught grades 5-8 from 1924 to 1931. In 1944 she became the head teacher at St Kevin’s and taught Grades 7 and 8. Sister Bonaventure passed away at Star of the Sea on 1971 and is buried at Brighton Cemetery.

James Brennan- Blue House

Blue House is named after James Brennan. The official School Register from 1924 has James Brennan as the first student to be enrolled at St Kevin’s School Ormond.

James has therefore become an important member of the history of St Kevin’s School.

Patrick- Green House

Green House is named after Sister Patrick Murphy. Sister Patrick was born into an Irish family in 1888. She grew up on a farm near Shepparton, Victoria. Sister Patrick joined the Presentation Sisters in 1910 and was known for her fabulous singing voice.

In 1913 Sister Patrick started her career in teaching and worked at a number of different schools. It wasn’t until 1924 that she began teaching at St Kevin’s. After her hard work teaching young children she passed away in 1970 at Star of the Sea

Conlon-Gold House

Gold House is named after Father Frank Conlon. Father Conlon was born in Geelong in 1881 and died in 1946.  

He was appointed Parish Priest of the newly formed St Kevin’s Ormond on November 18 1928 until and remained until 1937.
